Brittanny Handiboe was born and raised just south of Baltimore Maryland. She doodled in her picture books as a child because her dream was to simply add her own pictures to the words. That dream hasn't changed much besides, well, doodling in other picture books... sorry Dr. Seuss. As an aspiring children’s books illustrator, Brittanny is constantly working on the best way to remember and share that nostalgic feeling of listening to someone read a good book before bedtime. Her writings, memories, and even the media she uses all work towards creating that feeling. Most of her pictures are either digital paint or watercolor, like in a recent series of images titled, “Findings in the Foliage,” which represents that magical, often mysterious, and of course adventurous, atmosphere of a childhood story. Brittanny graduated from Montserrat College of Art with a dual major in illustration and painting, was a children's book reviewer from April of 2015 to April 2016, and she is also a fairly active member of the extremely supportive Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators. s s |
